Family Promise
FAMILY PROMISE (IHN) - NEXT ROTATION May 1-8, 2011
Family Promise provides emergency shelter and other services to homeless children and their families in the Grand Rapids area. Families in our area are facing a desperate housing crisis due to foreclosure and rising unemployment. Children and their families are the fastest growing segment of the homeless population. Keeping these families together while they endure this crisis is more important than ever. Family Promise is one of only two local shelters providing a total of 10 openings in Grand Rapids that keep children and their families together.
This May rotation, we need lots of volunteers, as we will be providing dinners and playtime supervision for 4, yes FOUR days that week. If you have not yet attended the required one-hour training/orientation session, but would like to help, we will host a training at East Congregational church Sunday, May 1 at 12:15. Please call or contact Joanie Snyder. Check your calendars to help with: unload truck and move-in/set-up Sunday, May 1 at 8:30 AM; dinners & playtimes Monday through Thursday, May 2-5.
To volunteer, please contact Joanie Snyder 942-9436 or Cathy McKenzie 475-0985.
